Ranking
Every app’s rank blends three signals, all readable on chain: token-weighted votes, tag stake, and real traffic (page views, weighted toward CAPTCHA-verified visits — see Ad revenue sharing below). There’s no editorial curation and no paid placement — an app with more genuine conviction behind it, not a bigger marketing budget, ranks higher.Voting
Anyone can vote for an app by committing NEB to it. A vote’s weight is proportional to the amount committed, and votes feed directly into that app’s rank. Votes aren’t spent or burned — they’re withdrawable, subject to the same decaying unstake fee tag stakes use (see below), so a vote is a real, revocable position rather than a one-time action.Tags and staking
Anyone can suggest a tag for an app (swap, nft-marketplace,
developer-tools, …), and anyone can stake NEB behind a tag they
believe genuinely describes it. Stake behind a tag:
- Boosts that app’s rank.
- Makes the tag itself easier to discover (see the Group map — tags cluster by shared apps, sized by total stake).
- Starts earning a share of that app’s ad revenue, proportional to your stake relative to everyone else staked on any of that app’s tags.
Withdrawing a vote or tag stake
Both votes and tag stakes can be withdrawn at any time, subject to a linearly-decaying unstake fee: 1% if withdrawn immediately after staking, decaying linearly to 0% over the following 7 days. The fee discourages flash-staking purely to farm a moment of rank or revenue share, without permanently locking anyone’s capital.Ad revenue sharing
Every app page tracks (privacy-preserving, CAPTCHA-verified) traffic and serves ads. Aggregate ad earnings are allocated back to individual apps proportional to each app’s share of revenue-eligible traffic — visits that passed bot verification, since only verified traffic should earn money (this is separate from the raw view count that feeds ranking above, where every visit counts toward visibility). Once an app’s gross revenue is allocated, it’s distributed further to everyone staked behind any of that app’s tags, proportional to their stake — so staking early on a tag that turns out to describe a popular app earns more than staking late, and staking on multiple tags for the same app doesn’t multiply your share beyond your total stake. Earned NEB can be claimed at any time without withdrawing the underlying vote or stake. It’s all on chain
